Episode 3 - German Wehrmacht WW2 Feldfernsprecher 33

Description

The German Wehrmacht field phone FF33: Feldfernsprecher 33 was developed by Siemens & Halske in the early 30ies as replacement for the Feldfernsprecher 26. Compared to that latter it is a much more bare bones design. It has only LB support and no buzzer option is included. CB and dial network support can be added with external components.

Between 1933 and 1945 1.6 Million pieces were manufactured by more than 20 different providers.

The FF33 pictured here was made by Ferdinand Schuchhardt AG in 1937. This model has the initial electrical setup (used until 1939) and a light alloy body (later ones were made of steel).

Unique feature

The bakelite battery cup can be removed for easy cleaning in case of battery leaking.
